Goodbye Motown, Hello World Cup Final!!

Today is my last few hours in Morristown with the family. We usually make breakfast and watch my uncle's shows. I like to leave when it is still daylight out. Driving down Sussex Turnpike at night scares the sh*t out of me! We all just sat and watched tv and had bagels for breakfast.
I left around 2:15pm/14:15 to get home in time to watch the final match of the World Cup, Germany vs Argentina! The game started at 3pm and let me tell ya, what a great game. It wasn't until the extra time that the whole game changed! GOAL!!! Germany took it 1-0 and is bringing home the win, trophy, and knowing that they could never go to Argentina.
After the game was over, it was a typical night, ate dinner, and relaxed in bed. Nothing too wild and crazy! About to go get my friend from the bus station, drop her off, then come home and go to bed. I am so tired if someone told me to lay down somewhere I would.

Night y'all

Morristown Weekend!!!

So today is Saturday! And I have started my morning with getting bagels for work and working four and a half hours of bliss! NOT!!! After work I headed straight to Motown!!! My home away from home! My parents are from Morristown and most of my mother's family is still here. Da's and some of ma's family are in either North Carolina (mom) or Florida (both).
I go to Motown once a month to visit and see my grandfather, the patriarch of the Bason clan. He is eighty-eight years young and still kicking! I go to stay at my uncle's who conveniently lives next door. I hang with the family from Saturday afternoon until Sunday afternoon! Anything can happen when I am there. This trip is to keep our minds off of everything that has happened over the past week. Read my last post to see what I am talking about.
My cousin Gabby and I just like hanging out and watch tv. My uncle wouldn't let us walk far places in Motown. She is like my mini-me. I taught her how to flat iron her hair, help her with her make-up, and let her play with mine since I have a vast collection. Today, I brought my collection so she can play with the colors I have and maybe teach her something new! I also bring my clothes and my laptop so I can check facebook and other things. And to, write these posts!
Once I got to the house, little cousins attack!!! Can we do this, glad you here, SHANNNNNOOOONNNN is here everyone, etc... Big cousin Shannon, what can I say! We frosted cookies and watched movies until they had to leave. Once the craziness was calm, Gabs and I went upstairs to play with my makeup and do our hair before bed. That is what we doo!!

Night y'all stick around for part zwei!

German Nails!

Heyy y'all its Shanon and today's post is about how I did my nails to represent the German National Team in the World Cup!!! And for those who have no idea what I am talking about, FIFA World Cup comes every four years and everyone becomes a HUGE and I mean HUGE soccer fan since its your home country playing if they qualify to play. Now since I live in America and the US team got knocked out by Belgium, the Dutch and German national teams are left for me to root for. I am not Dutch in any way shape or form, but I am part German and both teams look amazing and are playing phenomenally!!!

So I could talk about the games all day but this is about the nails and here we go!

  1. Apply a base coat to all of your nails, I used the Sally Hansen Diamond Base and Top Coat and let it dry
  2. Paint all of your nails any color you would like or that compliments the flag. I chose to use Essie's Over the Edge". Paint two coats on all of your nails except your ring finger!
  3. While your nails are drying, time to create the German flag! #GER You will need yellow, red, and black polishes. I used a yellow stripper from my friend, OPI's I'm Not Really A Waitress, and  Sinful Color's Black on Black. But you can use any yellow, red, or black to achieve this look.
  4. First, I used the yellow stripper to get the yellow strip of the German flag. Keep the stripper still and roll your finger to get a straight line as you can. Then fill in under the yellow line you have just created!
  5. Then take your red polish and paint the remaining exposed nail. Two thin coats are always better than one thick coat!
  6. Once the red dries, then make a band of black. Once you apply the second coat of black, let everything dry.
  7. Then apply a quick drying top coat to protect your design and your done!! I used the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Top Coat
I hope y'all enjoyed this nail art design! Please share your recreations on twitter and instagram #fifaworldcupnails on my profiles and next might be a make-up look for both the fourth of July and the USA national team. even though they are out.

    talk to you next time!!

Wild Weather and Holiday Weekend!!!

7/4/2014
Friday
Hey, y'all!!! Hope all is well, and I hope that the weather wherever you live is better than what has been going on all up and down the east coast!!! Thanks to Hurricane Arthur, its been raining since Wednesday; and making this holiday weekend start!

So today all I have done is cleaned my makeup brushes and watched movies all day.

The weather has cleared up and it is a nice sunny windy evening!!! YAY!!!

Happy 4th of July to everyone that celebrates!!! I might post a blog on a look that I created for the USAvsBEL game of FIFA World Cup. USA lost but we made it to the Round of 16 and I couldn't be any prouder of the team! And Tim Howard set the record for most saves in a game!! 16 SAVES!!! But I still have Germany and the Netherlands still in it to win it! I am part German and proud of it and the Dutch were robbed in 2010 and I would like to see them take it all the way!!!

Saturday
My Saturday started off as every other weekend that I have to work. I wake up and drive to work. Work went SLOW!!! I was busy working but damn it went so slow that I wanted to go back to bed!! Once one pm rolls around, I am out of the office and go back home. I parked in the driveway and saw my parents outside all sad looking; just like the time when we found out my daddy's sister was murdered. I thought something happened to my grandfather, which is logical pick since my grandfather is 88 years old. But, I was wrong; it was my beautiful cousin Evelyn, aka Shavone. She slipped in the shower and her airway was blocked; died instantly pretty much. She leaves behind my beautiful little cousin age 7. Because she is little I am not going to provide the name. This is the third death of my family in three months. I love black but I not liking that I am going to my second funeral.
Once the shock of the death subsided for a little, the family came over for a BBQ for the 4th and my Uncle Bernard's birthday ( he was born the 4th of July.) The BBQ was a fun afternoon of laughs and picking on each other; and it was nice to keep our minds off of what had happened that morning.
After the Bason clan left, we cleaned up and relaxed; then a text message from my aunt gets me out of the house all NIGHT!!!
I go to my aunt's when ever she needs me to feed the cat and that usually means I spend the night!!! Not even two minutes in the driveway and the kids are asking me questions and attacking me with water noodles and shooters!! I get inside and feed the cat and I go next door and hang out with the neighbors and the kids. It was nice to just relax and not be home. My aunt FINALLY came home and hung out next door too. We didn't leave until midnight. I was soo damn tired that I crashed in the guest room .

Sunday
We woke up and had our cups of coffee for her and tea for me. Then we went to go get an umbrella for the back deck. After we pick up we need, off to a late breakfast and it was fabulous! Went to a local place that I, wait, that we haven't been to in a long long time and it was worth it. Once we got back to my aunt's house, she kicked me out and I came home. Did a few errands like getting my eyebrows wax and buying things for my daddy.
Once I came home, that was it!!! I painted my nails for the next Germany game! Stay tuned for posts related to the FIFA World Cup!!!
Now it is getting late and time to relax and wide down for the night!!!

Hope y'all enjoyed the beautiful holiday weekend and had a better one than I did! Like this post and leave comments below. Talk to everyone soon!!!

Walmart and Harmon Haul!!!

Allo everyone. Hope everyone is doing well this fine weekend. It's Father's Day and I needed to go run some errands and and find my da gift. This haul is collective over the past few weeks since I have been busy with work!!

To start off with my favourite store Harmon:

  1. Since I dye the bottom half of my hair red, I needed hair dye. I can't remember what name of the color is but  I always stick with Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Color. So I picked up R0 Darkest Intense Auburn and I hope this goes well! I love Garnier hair dye and it smells lovely!!!
  2. Yet again I bought a Turbie Twist! I love the feeling this towel gives my hair. It is better than a regular bath towel and it absorbs better and ladies, that means less time with the blow-dryer!
  3. I bought nail care sticks for my best friend. She loves to do nails and I was walking past them so I picked her up two packs of sticks.
  4. I picked up my One a Day Women's VitaCraves Gummies since I am running low.
  5. And last but not least, a new product that I purchased. I am always in the market for a cleansing wipe that also takes off makeup and makes my skin feel good at the end of the day. I use Clean & Clear products anyway so I picked up the night-relaxing all-in-one cleansing wipes. This is supposed to help you relax, cleanse your face and take off your makeup! I can't wait to see how these work and feel. Stay tuned world :)
Then I had to go to Walmart to return my blu-ray/ dvd player since it was not working correctly. So I went to return and buy a new blu-ray/ dvd player. While I was in the electronic department, I was walking down the aisle and there was the $5 movie bin!!! So I thought to get my da a dvd for Father's Day. I saw some movies that her might like, then BAM! Forrest Gump was in my sight but I didn't know if we owned it, so I called my mum-no answer; then my little brother and he said no. I added it and I went to check-out!

So that is the haul at the moment! Hope y'all enjoy this post. Comment down below what you go your da for Father's day and have a great day and Father's Day everyone! Talk to ya soon!!!

A Series of Posts Coming Up

Hey everyone!
I hope everyone has had a good week and getting ready for the weekend! I am in a sharing kind of mood. I know that my posts are not on schedule and I have some news to share with y'all...

I in the process of writing a series of posts regarding my inner thoughts and life. My family life. My relationships with my three closest friends and how we are doing; maybe? How I keep my friendships with girls and boys. And maybe a peak into my sex life since a very famous TV show inspired me to write it.

Also too, I am in the works on bringing a close friend who loves to do nails on board. She would post once a week with different things to do with nails. It will be coming in a few weeks when details are hashed out but I can't wait to see how everything will come together.

Can't wait to write my next post and I'll to ya soon!!!
